elp choice...

We are excited to pilot the ELP Choice Program when we return from Fall Break.   The date we have selected to begin the ELP Choice Program is October 12th.  The purpose of ELP Choice is to provide incentives for students to raise their grades and allow teachers an opportunity to work in smaller group settings with their struggling students.

Following the KORTV bulletin at 11:40, the A/B Choice students will decide how they want to use the last 30 minutes of ELP.
·         They can enjoy an extended lunch
·         They can study in the library
·         OR the A/B students who have a “choice”  can be a great resource for teachers.  They can be invited to remain in their own classes to tutor or arrangements can be made for them to tutor in other classes.
·         Classes with substitutes will not release ANY students.  Please leave this direction for subs.

This program will only run for 3 weeks and will conclude on the day the second Progress Report comes out, October 30th.  All students will have a chance to see each teacher twice during this 3 week period.  Following the pilot, teachers will be asked to complete a short survey so we can fine tune the program before the second trial in November.

Additionally, there is an ELP video available for you to view through Google Drive.  This video provides suggestions for different enrichment or re-teaching activities you could utilize during ELP. Don’t forget!  You can always contact your subject-specific curriculum specialist or your AP for additional support and ideas.

Thank you,

Teresa Kramer
